Advanced Skills to Enchance Youth Participation
Start date: Sep 1, 2010,

The training course will bring together 24 youth workers and youth leaders in order to explore European citizenship as a process of becoming responsible for one's surroundings, for other individuals and for the society in which we live, in a wider and more inclusive perspective which goes beyond national and continental limits. The participants will enhance their skills in order to support their target groups, in particular young people with fewer opportunities (i.e. young people from remote or rural areas, unemployed young people) in becoming more responsible European citizens. The participants will be encouraged to understand the impact the local youth organization have when faced with the massive global issues. The underlying philosophy of the training course is that as we become more aware of the global, we are challenged to make sense of the local. The project will also highlight the significance of the activation of immobile volunteers in the participants' organizations. We expect to have a multiplying effect regarding the skills the participants are going to obtain. Participants will apply the new knowledge into practice within their organisations.
