Adult Education Systems in different contexts
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

As we have seen throughout this application form, we can see how our school "Cepa Castillo de Almansa" is an adult educational centre in charge of training adults from Almansa and from other seven villages and towns such as Alpera, Caudete, Corral Rubio, Bonete, Higueruela, Pétrola and Montealegre del Castillo. Due to the features of our centre, where we may find how a lot of adults depend on it, we have thought about preparing a European Project with the objective of improving our methodology and the organisation of our school through a job shadowing programme. The centres we have chosen for our movilities have specific features and they are so different that we may find all the diversity in different countries in Europe. Our centre has 18 teachers 7 of whom will be in charge of the movilities and, in a certain way, all the staff will be implied in this project as well as all our students. We would like to emphasize that in this project we have 3 Heads of Department, 3 members of the Management Team with the clear objective of improving their level of English, new technologies and organisation/management of centres. We are thinking of having five movilities with different European Centres with the purpose of experiencing a job shadowing in order to analyse the organisation of the centres in different countries. Every movility will have an initial and a final preparation. The methodology used by the elaboration of the project has been active and with lot of participation by the members of our centre through meetings, team work, use of new technologies (eTwinning) and attendance to seminars related to Erasmus +. One of the objectives is the internationalisation of our school, with the objective of establishing strategical associations with other European centres in order to know other methods of teaching, organisation, management and getting to know other important tools to incorporate them in our methodology for Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Non- Formal Education. Another one would be impulsing new European projects in the future involving the participation of the students ( KA2). The final objective is to become a bilingual centre, by means of a plan impulsed by our Regional Government (Education, Sports and Culture Counselling). Dealing with our staff, the impact on them will be significant because they will improve their command of the English language being this objective very important because the long-term objective of our school, as we have said before, is to become a bilingual centre. A B2 level is going to be required as well as a better organisation and administration of our centre. Furthermore, the students of our centre will have a high-quality education with a competitive staff having a good command of English and new methodologies. This way, leaving the educational formation will be prevented and they will be able to find a job or study in a European country. Regarding the preparation of the project we would like to emphasize how all the staff has attended seminars and everything related to Erasmus +. All the staff and students will be implied when broadcasting our project on television and radio as well as social networks in order to make all the population aware of the project. To sum up, we would like to say that all our staff and the educational community are interested in this project and this is a unique opportunity to show how important Adult Education is among our society and it would be interesting having our school as a referent one in our region with prestige impulsing adult educational programmes so important in our country and in the current socio-economic framework.
