Adult Education Pathways Towards 2020

The main goal of this Partnership, joining 5 EU countries, is to support the European Year 2012 for Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity by means of creating a transference of different models of senior citizen’s learning and promoting the exchange of innovative methodological approaches between the involved partners. The focus will be on the promotion of an active ageing program for older people through active citizenship and involvement in volunteer work and community activities.The sharing of experiences, good practices and new and proven methodologies in reflection moments such as coordination meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, visits and study cases, will promote the quality in adult education provision, for this specific public, by enhancing the core professional competences of those charged with the delivery of lifelong learning programmes.The experience of seniors, through an active participation in all steps of the partnership, will be essential for the continuous review and evaluation of the work developed, as well as the achievement of the main goals of the partnership.The partnership will develop a Guide on Innovative Methodologies to support teachers of adults in the delivery of effective and engaging educational programmes, a DVD made by Adult Learners in 5 EU official languages, a website of the partnership and a leaflet regarding Senior Volunteering as a way of dissemination of the project and could be used for cross-cultural learning also.Will emerge also, recommendations on Adult Education at EU level, including: senior Adult Learner current situation in the partner countries, quotes by adult learners participating in seminars and workshops and conclusions and recommendations by the partner organisations.
