Adj helyet magad mellett-hátrányos helyzetű fiatalok társadalmi inklúziójának segítése
Start date: Aug 3, 2015, End date: Dec 2, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

We intend to carry out our project titled Give space beside you - Promoting the social inclusion of disadvantaged youth in collaboration of a Hungarian and an Italian NGO. 12-12 disadvantaged young people between the ages of 20 and 30 are involved in the project. The implementation period is from 3rd of August to 3rd of December 2015. The participating organizations have relevant experience in working with disadvantaged youth and also the project planners and implementers are competent. Numerous skilled professionals and volunteers with experience matching the project activity would be involved in the program. Our goal is to broaden the perspective of the disadvantaged young participants by acquainting them with international experiences. We are dedicated to provide methods and tools to these young people in order to let them step out from the rank of the low-status population. It is essential also for our towns that the benefit recipients of an age group turn into a self-motivated and self-sufficient local community. In our program, in accordance with the aims of Erasmus+, we intend to demonstrate, acquaint and give the opportunity to improve the practices necessary for active social engagement. An important aspect of our project is raising awareness towards other cultures. We aim to provide empirical information for all participants about segregate living conditions and life skills by „field” work. Each program is based on the active involvement of the participants through interactive communication. Leaning on experience we want to define breakout points, set goals and work out strategies to achieve them. The development of young people’s awareness with the toolkit of the project is among our priorities. We consider it relevant to provide knowledge about the support systems and institutions designed to overcome the disadvantages and the decision-making levels. For the effective advocacy not only the consciousness and the communication techniques are essential but also to be aware of the intervention strategies suitable to the target groups. Our goal is to equip all participants with experiences, skills and knowledge acquired through non-formal learning that could be exploited in various occasions in their life. We hope that with this project we encourage them to actively participate and organize similar actions in the future. We expect that the cooperation of the two partners will expand to additional members and that our initiative can lead towards networking at European level enhancing the social inclusion of the disadvantaged youth. The project can be divided into four phases; arrangement, preparatory visit, the exchange and then the follow-up and dissemination phase. The arrangement phase will begin in June 2015. It is designed to motivate and prepare the participants. The preparatory visit will take place in Italy, in Santa Croce sull’Arno. 1-1 managers and 1-1 implementers will represent the organizations at the meeting. The exchange will take place between the19th and the 24th of September 2015 in Hungary, Baks. During the exchange we will organize a visit to the parliament that will be followed by introduction to each other, confidence-building and then the presentation of the Erasmus + program. The activities involve discussions, team-building games and presentations. The detailed program will be elaborated jointly with the partner. Every evening, we provide individual mentoring opportunities as well. Teamwork will come into view also during the information gathering in the field. The participants can analyse the integrated education in the local primary school and nursery school and the social assistance system in the city hall. After this they get to know the slum and the people living there. We will deal with the notions of active citizenship by training held by a guest instructor and role-plays. Italian and Hungarian dinner will be organized in order to strengthen the group cohesion. We planned the familiarization with the Roma Youth Action Plan of the EU by elaborating in groups a priority chosen by the participants, developing a response to it through a flash-mob plan following by its presentation during a city tour in Szeged. We highlight the transfer of networking skills that are necessary for expanding the network of relations. On the last day we will work on a network model in order to broaden our initiated cooperation and to start the preparation of a pilot project. After personal evaluation of the program and the final attitude-test we will conclude the exchange with an intercultural evening. The proposed scheme may vary taking into account daily reflections. In the follow-up period we intend to make the project activities transparent, to disseminate and to work on a strategy to continue the project. The Italian partner organization develops and operates a Facebook profile while the Hungarian partner is in charge of providing information to the printed and broadcast media.
