The project " Matching skills to the needs of the European market for the graduate nurses " addresses 25 general nurses, graduates during the school year 2013/2014, registered as nurses in The association of Medical Asistents , Midwives and Nurses in Romania , Dolj Branch , who will participate in a training placement European oduring 5 weeks , from March 9th to April 12th , 2015 , in a rehabilitation center in Vasto , Italy. In Dolj county there are five post-secondary schools that prepare over 600 general nurses. There is a low rate of employment of graduates. Only some of those who finish nursing schools in our county are able to find a job in the country. Some of them are heading to the European labor market. An employment opportunity for graduated nurses can be in the field of medical rehabilitation, in units of spas and rehabilitation centers, both at home and in Europe. The project aims to contribute to the development of professional skills of participants and specific skills for the medical recovery and rehabilitation, in order to become more able to integrate national and European labor market . During the 5 week of training placement, the participants will shape and improve job-related skills in the medical recovery and rehabilitation related to clinical investigations , laboratory and functional explorations needed to assess the health of patients and to assist patients in treatment of neurological recovery , orthopedic , respiratory , psychophysics and rehabilitation in psychiatry. Occupational skills of participants will be assessed on the basis of practical tests by tutors and recorded in the Europass certificate becaming part of the professional portfolio of participants. At the end of the training placement, the 25 participants will also have improved skills, new knowledge, specific skills which will be useful in filling a job. Skills of using advanced medical technologies for medical rehabilitation will open new opportunities for working in health recovery units in the country and in Europe. Through experience of working in a medical unit European working experience in a multicultural team and the familiarity with European values , the 25 participants will gain capacity to adapt to European standards that increase their competitiveness on national and European labor market in medical field. The 25 participants will have the linguistic and cultural communication skills developed, new skills for communicating with patients from other cultures, will be familiar with their European values becoming more prepared to work and easily integrate into another cultural context and to participate more actively in society. The project will have an impact on local and regional levels in promoting quality education and training to support the development and diversification of education in the initial and continuous training of nurses, to ensure better employability and increase the insertion labor market of graduates . Best practices as well as products developed will be distributed to teachers in health education schools in the city and county , to economic partners and will be available on the project blog can be capitalizedat at national and international level, the project thereby increasing the quality of health workforce preparation with the consequences of increasing the degree of professional preparation of graduates . The project contributes to the objectives of the European strategy of education and training (ET 2020) and to raising awareness of the importance of nurses in training and labor mobility .
