Active Rural Youth: Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship Through Youth Leaders is a 4 days training course/seminar for youth workers and youth club leaders from rural areas in Estonia, Latvia, Norway and Denmark. The aim of the project is to bring together youth workers or youth club leaders from different European countries (Scandinavian and Baltic), who work with young people from rural areas. Provide them space for training, discussion and development about the topic of rural youth entrepreneurship and through these activities strengthen the network of rural youth organisations in Europe. The training course will train youth leaders who through the gained knowledge will motivate, guide and empower rural youth to be more enterprising. The project offers an opportunity for participants to share experiences from each country and as a result find new possible ways to initiate youth entrepreneurship and build bridges connecting youth work, rural areas and entrepreneurship. The aim is also to strengthen the local identity of organisations within the process of globalisation, ensure sustainable development, raise awareness about the similarities and differences among cultures, traditions and customs in rural Europe. Objectives of the project:- raise the awareness of entrepreneurial attitude that will help young people to be more active in rural areas;- to give an opportunity for participants from different countries to share practices, experiences and ideas regarding entrepreneurship issues of rural youth organisations;- to foster intercultural learning and exploring the cultural diversity of countries and participated organisations;- get an overview of cooperation opportunities in different European countries;- introduce methods and tools to promote entrepreneurial attitude;- give space and time to find new ways, activities, projects and initiate positive change in participants, organisations and in their communities.There were participants from 4 different countiries: Estonia, Latvia, Denmark and Norway up together with 21 persons plus prep team and trainer. Participants were expected to be working with youth from rural areas and be active within their own country youth organisation. After the training course they were willing to support youth`s attitude to be more entrepreneurial in their home country. Looking partners for possible future rural youth cooperation projects were promoted throughout the project. All working methods and activities aimed at fostering intercultural learning and exchangeing between the participants from different backgrounds. Participants were involved in workshops and different kind of activities related to the themes using non-formal education. They were involved at all times in the exchange of experiences, ideas and opinions. Their contributions for the whole project were vital. Participants returned from the training course/seminar with new knowledge, ideas, inspirations and bigger motivation. They understood the essence of youth entrepreneurship, how to develop it and several tools that help to promote entrepreneurial attitude among young people. They should be able to help a young person identify his skills, interests, develop strengths, overcome fear and use variety of tools to coach and empower enterprising thinking, have enough information to support and mentor them during implementing their ideas.For Estonian 4H, the project increased our organisational capacity and sustainability, developed skills and experiences for our youth club leaders, our reputation in the national rural youth environment and in general acquired wider recognition in the local community. The participating organisations benefit directly from the project through the exchange of the best practise and new knowledge. This also greatly strengthened the network between different European Countries and their rural youth organisations. Upon the return back home, participants are expected to share their impressions, experiences and informations about the theme, and countries they came into contact with. The multiplier effect of the event were immediately be put into action as participants inform and instruct local young people with new skills and knowledge. Participants are be expected to use their new skills in their own communities and start new projects from the local to the European level.
