Acting out loud
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Apr 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

SENDE organised Youth Exchange entitled ?Acting out loud? for 35 young people from Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Greece and Italy from 30th March - 6th April, 2015 in Senderiz, Spain. Main goal of this project was raising awareness about the issue of discrimination and the importance of combating our own prejudice in order to avoid labeling people based on groundless impressions we have of others. The key component of the Exchange was the use of drama in education meaning that the issues of stereotypes and causes of discrimination were dealt with through diverse theater activities. In addition, participants had a chance to meet and work with other cultures and to exchange experiences about the problem caused by stereotypes and prejudice and about the ways of overcoming it. At the end of the Exchange the participants did a theater performance focused on raising awareness of the local public about the problem of ?labeling people? in societies throughout Europe. Working together on combating the issues of stereotypes and discrimination the participants learned to understand that in the end we should all be equal despite our differences and that we all have the responsibility of building an open-minded and non-discriminating Europe.
