ACQUISITION D'UNE DOUBLE COMPETENCE "METIER ET INTERNATIONAL"
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project contributes to the acquisition and use of knowledge, skills and professional qualifications. It also improves the quality and the innovation in education practices and those of vocational training. In the end result, it increases the attraction to teaching and vocational training as well as its transferability. The profile of both learner (student) and teacher(staff) ultimately responds to the needs of the work market. Within the framework of their training, students (learners) have the opportunity to integrate into the “European sections”, which allow them to undertake a work placement in a European company. The objectives are to improve language skills, and to acquire a dual focus of “Profession and International "; to open up to other cultures, and to learn new professional practices. Offering this possibility to 15 opened-minded students (learners) results in a real cultural, professional and linguistic immersion. Their work placement is organized, supervised and validated by a teaching and administrative team in collaboration with our European schools and professional partners. This will bring an added value to the students (learners) study experience, which will be evaluated and validated by the specific certification “European sections“ in parallel with their “BACCALAUREAT PROFESSIONNEL"SECTION EUROPEENNE ". This exam is organised at the end of two years of training. The end result can be viewed in terms of the benefits to each (learner or staff) participant, to the European 'specialisation' of our school, and the international networks for our region. In the long term, the students (learners) will have a communication advantage, which will bring them a professional edge with the aim of increasing their European relevance. On another level, with a view to expanding the recruitment into the “European sections” at our school to other students and into other specialities, the objective is to train five teachers so that they can teach their courses in English in “European sections“ We plan to organise for our teachers a training period in the form of an immersion stay, at our English partner school, alongside a teacher of the same speciality. This will create valuable links, the adoption of appropriate vocabulary and the opportunity to prepare for the compulsory certification necessary to teach in European section. The expected benefits include the ability to offer more opportunities to students, and to integrate a 'European' focus into our programmes which is run by well trained teachers adapted to this focus on Euro-Citizenship.
