aces is one of the largest school networks in the region aiming at the promotion of dialogue and crossborder cooperation of young people and schools from the 15 Central andSouth Eastern European partner countries.The core of aces is a periodic project competition and support scheme for international school partnerships offering concrete opportunities for mobility, exchange and cooperation of young people, teachers and educational institutions. All school types with pupils aged 12-17 years can participate. International conferences for project delegations offer additional platforms for exchange, joint work and training.aces was initiated in 2006 by ERSTE Foundation (Austria) and is coordinated by Interkulturelles Zentrum (Vienna, Austria) in cooperation with VČELĺ DOM (Bratislava, Slovakia).The education ministries of all partner countries are officially supporting the programme.Fifteen countries are involved: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic and SloveniaThe initiative is supported by the ministries of education of all participating countries and is also associated with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), Priority Area 09 "People & Skills".
