The project will focus on the need to develop new methodologies in vocational training and modernising technical equipment for the rapidly evolving motor vehicle market. The project is also intended for staff training in private vehicle workshops. Lifelong learning as a support for ongoing development of new competencies will form the basis of a system where teaching and learning are combined with international awareness and a knowledge and understanding of different cultures. The partnership will design eight electronic educational modules to be piloted in four different colleges. Students (trainee mechanics) will study and experiment on the modules via computer. Learners from the different schools will be in constant contact with each other, in order to discuss problems and progress. The results will be disseminated via publications in motor magazines, skill improvement courses, and information on the project's web site.
