Speech and language,with a view to provide the contact between individuals,is accepted as the total of the systematic abilities used as tools.For children with special needs,speech and language development education is a PREREQUISITE for primarily communication , socialization,improving the interactivity and success during the classes.In the course of children with special needs education,it is observed that students who cannot utter the sounds in a proper,fluent way or have problem with their tones or have no sound,are shy,have adaptational or behavioural problems.In this context,as the goal of our project,speech and language education is the milestone in order to facilitate the integration into the social life,improve the interactivity and self-confidence of childen with special needs not only during their education but also through their lives.When we examine foremost European countries,Speech and Language Education,Picture Exchange Communication System,Occupational Theraphy Techniques,Sensory Integration,Joint Action Routines Methods and additionally Innovative Articulation and Phonetics Applications are proved to be very effective and successful.In special needs education,taking individual differences into consideration,planning in which various method are utilized in accordance with students’ needs,has increased the qualification and quality of the education in Europe.As the quality rises,integration into the community,adaptation,interactivity and success during the classes and self-confidence of students’ rise at the same level.Our institution is the largest school with highest number of students with special needs among Bafra,Alaçam,Yakakent,Ondokuz Mayıs region.It has great demand from parents of children with special needs.Thanks to this project,we aim our teachers to broaden their horizons by acquiring vocational education , present quality and effective sessions , increase the capacity of speech and language education and ultimately hit the target in terms of EU standarts. About Speech and Language Education which is one of our institution’s forecoming need,we need to participate “Educational Practices of Speech and Language for Children with Special Needs in EU” training course and adapt this applications to our own school.We have a participant staff of 1 Headmaster,8 special education and 1 preschool teachers.Our young and dynamic teachers have graduated from special education programs of 4 years,have experience of minimum 6 years,have attended local and national in service trainings in Turkey. As speech and language education has an important role in early childhood period, 1 preschool teacher will participate to our project having adequate vocational knowledge and experience of 6 years.In order to carry out our project in a proper and approved way and keep away from potential risks ,we will set an project management team consisting of units.(Project,Travel,Budget,Training,Monitoring,Evaluation etc coordinators.)Additionally,various performance test will be utilized so as to evaluate outputs in a healthy way.(Preliminary-Final Tests,Fulfillment Surveys,Dairies.etc) Consequently,this project will improve not only our teachers’ but also our students’ self-confidence .Vocational training in the field will assist our teachers to form social and more successful,effective education atmosphere.Speech and Language Development Class ,which will be applied after the training course,will be supported by innovative articulation and phonetic studies.Thanks to this ,qualified and quality education will extend the vision of the institution and approach to the target of EU standarts.Awareness in the region will increase and we will share the experience with the other institutions we co-operate.
