A Virtual Learning Environment for Medical Doctors in Remote Areas

Internet-based distance learning system for Orthopaedic study : The EPICUROS system is designed to facilitate the communication with and training of doctors in the field of orthopaedics in remote health centres. The system will be accessed over the Internet, thereby providing continuous, interactive access and training facilities and uses virtual reality to recreate a real life working environment. This project started in 2000 and lasted 36 months.
