A Sporting Chance
Start date: Oct 1, 2003,

The Sporting Chance project aimed at establishing support centres at local sports clubs in order to enhance personal development opportunities for the young and socially disadvantaged and to better integrate such individuals into society. The positive image of sports clubs was clearly beneficial in encouraging the target group to participate and to become active in the local community. Having originated in England, where many professional football clubs now have a study centre, the goal of the project was to transfer this concept to other partner countries and to specifically target 16-25 year olds having dropped-out of mainstream education. Key project results included a toolkit, a teacher’s guide and a series of assignments for use with the end target group.
