Regarding the existing potential the tourism sector becomes more and more important in both partners regions. Sufficient information about tourist attractiveness in the region for visitors is one of the important assumptions of tourism development. Both partners together with local tourism stakeholders found out that just a minimum of tourist and cultural sights with the territory of their regions are well marked at the moment. Insufficient or missing signs and promotion materials are one of the most often negative answers within the questionnaires filled in by visitors. In the territory of KSK is the only one example the signs of sights at the Gothic route in the regions of Spis and Gemer which are marked with direction and guide signs. There are no such signs in the BAZ region. Missing signs at the same time negatively affect the inhabitants awareness about the local and regional values.KSK, in accordance with the realization of TERRA INCOGNITA Programme as the part of the project Kosice ECOC 2013, plan to sign selected tourist sights at every single thematic route Wine, Gothic and Iron Route. BAZ region also plan to participate in Kosice ECOC 2013 project within the prepared Strategy of International Cooperation of Northern Hungary. Achievements: The main motivating factor of the project was the insufficient guidance and tourist information systems on both sides of the border. Through project activities, the outputs of the project contributed to the better promotion of tourist places and to increasing the number of visitors to the area concerned. The main outputs of the project were road signs for tourist places and informational boards especially for the Wine, Gothic and Iron route in the Košice Region and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. Joint brochures were also created.
