A Different Journey
Start date: Aug 1, 2015, End date: Jul 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

'A diffrent journey' is a project with two components; short term group EVS and a feasibility visit. There are 3 short term group European Voluntary Service (EVS) projects. In each project eight youngsters from the Netherlands will go to Adrasan, Turkey. All youngsters are (potential) school drop outs. In Adrasan they will do voluntary work for the local community. Theme of this short term group EVS is sustainable environmental awareness. During 2 weeks the activities are focussed on littering, recycling, repairing local buildings. Also the youngsters will visit the local school where they will teach English, do sports and give information/ do activities about recycling. To make the EVS a life learning experience youngsters will set their personal goals before going on the EVS. Before, during and after the experience they will be guided by professional coaches. Aim is to bring youngsters back to school and get motivated again to finish their education. The feasibility visit will be done in September (3-6) and will be done by the two coordinator from Bloom and a man who is going to live and work in Spain after 2015. They are going to visit Ayuntamiento de Villalbilla, an organistion who is in the process of becoming a Host organisation to see if short term group EVS for youngsters with fewer opportunities can be held there. Also they will visit Encantada in Malaga, to see if this can be a hosting place too.
