PROJECT
FINISHED
A Border Town back again at the Crossroads to Europe
The mobility plan originates from the need to internationalise a school which, , owing to its location, is distant from any important cultural and formative experience. The project aims at broadening the school cultural horizons and at providing opportunities to meet and exchange good practices, to bring about an exchange of experience with foreign colleagues, to improve training methods in teaching foreign languages introducing new creative methodologies, to get new CLIL modules started and to upgrade the ones that have already been implemented, as well as to boost important projects such as ESABAC at ‘Liceo Linguistico’ and certifications of foreign language competence in French, German and English (open to students of all courses).
The personnel mobility plan at Liceo Spezia involves nine people:
-two teachers of History and Philosophy who are going to attend a two-week course in France aiming at the improvment of their language skills in French;
-three teachers of English who are interested in a two-week course in Great Britain about creative didactic and methodology and the development of contemporary English;
-one teacher of English who is interested in a two-week course in Ireland about modern didactic and methodology and the use of new technology,
- one teacher of Italian and the Admnistrative Director who are interested in two one-week courses each about the development of the four skills and new vocabulary in the English language;
-one teacher of German who is going to attend a two-week course in Germany about modern didactic and teaching methods.
The staff mobility plan was outlined after the attendance at some informative meetings about the new Erasmus plus project and after a careful analysis of the school needs on the basis of the requests presented by the staff. The participants in the project have chosen the courses related to contents and activities relevant to the objectives of the school and the surrounding territory. The selected courses will contribute to the development of new didactic methods and to the modernization and internationalisation of the school. An evaluation board will assess the staff’s requests and the person in charge of the school projects, together with the headmaster and the management team, will follow the activities in progress and then they will monitor the impact, the results and the dissemination inside the school and on the surrounding territory..
The staff engaged in the project are interested in attending training courses in other European countries in order to bring fresh impetus and motivation to the educational environment, updating both the didactic offer and their own professional profiles, in view of partnerships and long term exchange programmes in the future.
The mobility plan is intended to effect the school, but also the whole district, particularly considering its being so peripheral to the region and in view of the fewer opportunities for the population and the students.
The head of the administrative department will be able to help and deal with the foreign students attending our school in the best possible way and will be involved in the management of future European projects.
