This call for proposals is related to the EU-funded project EMBERS (H2020 - ICT-12-2015: FIRE). In the context of EMBERS, three city challenges have been prepared in cooperation with the cities Porto (PT), Cologne (DE) and Trikala (GR). We are looking for developers to implement solutions to each of these proposed challenges in the form of mobile and/or Web apps that use the EMBERS MBaaS (Mobility Back-end as a Service) to access mobility data provided by the respective city. These solutions will demonstrate that the MBaaS is capable of successfully solving a specific smart city mobility challenge. Development works starts on 2 April 2018 and has a maximum duration of 7 months. The funding of a city challenge is expected to be up to € 30,000. The total indicative funding for this call is € 90,000.
Deadline: 16 February 2018, at 12h00 (Paris time).
Potential applicants, i.e., startups, SMEs, technology providers, etc. are asked to submit proposals written in English only. More information and the full call documents, including the guidelines for applicants and an electronic submission system, can be found on found on the French government-run platform for public procurement, PLACE.

A note concerning this open call:
To avoid any ambiguity that might arise through the use of the term "open call", we clarify that EMBERS does not use the "financial support to third parties" funding mechanism described in Annex K of the Horizon 2020 Work Programme, and that is commonly used for projects' open calls. As the terms under which EMBERS is financed do not provide for financial support to third parties, the EMBERS open call is instead funded through the mechanism of subcontracting.
