Stathis Efstathopoulos: He currently holds the position of the Associate Professor of Medical and Radiation Physics, Medical School, University of Athens, Greece. He received his PhD in Medical Physics from the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Course in Medical Physics, University of Patras, Greece in 2002. Dr Efstathopoulos occupational experience includes: 1993–2003 Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, Radiation Protection Supervisor, Radiology, Nucl. Medicine and Research Lab, 1998–2003 2nd Dept. of Radiology, University of Athens, Radiation Protection Supervisor and Research Scientist, 2003–2008 Lecturer, 2008–2011 Assistant Professor and 2011- today Associate Professor of Medical and Radiation Physics, 2nd Dept. of Radiology, University General Hospital Attikon, University of Athens. Radiation Protection projects in 50 ionizing radiations medical laboratories, and Hazard Report projects in 40 ionizing radiations medical laboratories in 6 General Hospitals. His eduational experience includes: More than 15 years’ experience in University lectures (graduate and postgraduate level) at Medical School University of Athens, Technical University of Athens, Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, Nurse and Medical Schools of University of Athens, Army Nurse School. 30 Scientific Lectures as invited speaker. Supervisor for the education of 47 Medical Physics candidates. Supervisor of 2 Ph.D. students having awarded the degree, 4 active Ph.D. Students, and participation in 12 supervising committees of Ph.D. students in Medical School of University of Athens. Supervisor of 19 dissertations of Postgraduate students and participation in 35 supervising committees of M.Sc. students in Medical School of University of Athens. He is the author of 40 abstracts in Greek and 45 abstracts in International congresses.
He is the main author or co-author of 80 original scientific articles in International peer reviewed journals, with more than 1500 citations (h-index 20, google scholar). Dr Efstathopoulos has participated in 10 research projects and he is a member of 10 scientific societies.
