About Me

By being part of the traditions of Romania’s higher education and cultivating world’s values and responding today’s demands, yet foreseeing the future, the University of Architecture and Urbanism has assumed the following didactic, scientific, and cultural missions: a) To train professionals with higher education in the fields of architecture and urbanism, specialized in various particular sub-domains of the mentioned fields (architecture; interior design; design; conservation and restoration; furniture design; urban planning; landscape design and planning, etc) at various levels of undergraduate and postgraduate education; b) To generate competitive research, creation, and innovation competences on both national and international level; c) To foster free artistic expression, critical thinking, and the desire to keep up with whatever is new in the world and assimilate the state-of-the art knowledge and directions in the spirit of scientific truth, artistic beauty and moral good; to assume the national cultural identity and Romania’s participation into the progress of world art and science; 

 In order to achieve its teaching, scientific, and cultural mission, the IMUAU has set: a) to offer study programmes that answer contemporary and future high demands: b) to form general, specialized, and transversal competences necessary in a society that changes constantly and rapidly; c) to ensure the high quality of the educational process; d) to attract the best professionals in the fields of design, research, and creation as well as those young graduates who are well-equipped for their profession and research activities; e) to help the members of the academic community develop their careers within an appropriate milieu; f) to provide those conditions able to foster national and international partnerships; g) to develop relations with University’s graduates; h) to establish contacts with professional practice; i) to update the specialists’ training through refreshment, postgraduate, or lifelong learning courses; j) to collaborate with national and international associations; k) to collaborate with international associations in the field of architectural education; l) to ensure a transparent management of the institution; 

m) to reinforce the spirit of academic community; n) to promote scientific, cultural, and ethical values within national and international communities; o) to support the scientific and artistic performances of the academic community both nationally and internationally as well as in the framework of inter-university cooperation; p) to participate through creative research to the modernization of social life, development of economy and culture; q) to assume and carry out the mission of being the national cultural centre in the field of architecture and urbanism, which will enable the formation, development, transmission, and dissemination of specific values; r) to constantly and progressively express our position as a centre able to foster the international cooperation in the fields of architecture and urbanism. Art. 7. Here are the values that should define the activity of the academic community: vocation, dedication, professionalism, honesty, honour, and attachment to the defining lines of the university identity and its organizational ;
