About Me

The Brindisi Port Authority is a public body (stated by the Italian law ).
Its aims are guidance, planning, coordination, promotion and monitoring port operations. The Autority is in charge of maintenance of common areas and the seabed, overseeing the supply of services of general interest, managing the State Portual Property and planning the development of the port.
In more detail, the tasks under the law are: 
a) policy, planning, coordination, promotion and control of port operations (loading, unloading, transhipment, storage and handling of goods) and other commercial and industrial activities carried out in ports, with regulatory power and order, even in reference to safety from accident risks posed by these activities and to hygienic conditions.
b) ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the common parts of the port, including that for the maintenance of the seabed, subject to agreement with the Ministry of Public Works that includes the use of the funds available in the budget of the Administration itself.
c) custody and control of the activities directed to the provision for payment, to port users of general interest services (management of the water system, environmental management for the cleaning of the areas and for the delivery of waste, public lighting management, management systems and port technology infrastructure).
