K(no)w Extremism is a 12 months-long project (starting date: 1st June 2018)  which aims to improve youth workers’ knowledge, skills and attitudes about preventing extremist violence and countering extremist-narratives, by responding directly to the needs expressed by young people with regard to their understanding of and participation in the counter-violent extremism process; herein referred to as “cve".

The project's first main goal is to prevent and fight violent extremism and radicalization through concrete measures within the local community. The objectives are to strengthen the role of youth organizations in countering violent extremism; and promote the role of intercultural dialogue and gender mainstreaming in countering violent extremism and radicalization. At the end of the first training course:

  1. Participants will have developed and enhanced their knowledge, skills and attitudes in preventing extremist violence;

  2. Participants will be familiar with the conflict resolution and extremist violence prevention analysis, tools and techniques;

  3. Participants will have developed their capacities to apply and use intercultural dialogue in countering extremist violence  and hate speech;

  4. Participant will be familiar with gender perspective and gender mainstreaming concepts in countering violent extremism and radicalization.

The project's second main goal is to reinforce the civil society framework against discrimination, radicalization, extremist violence and extremist narratives. The objectives are to enhance effective counter violent extremism work within youth organisations and promote effective activism and campaigning against against extremist narratives and hate speech. At the end of the second training course:

  1. Participants will have developed and enhanced their knowledge, skills and attitudes in countering extremist narratives;

  2. Participants will be familiar with the combating hate speech and counter extremist narratives analysis, tools and techniques;

  3. Participants will have developed their capacities to apply and design innovative campaigns against extremist narratives and hate speech;

  4. Participants will be familiar with developing, executing, controlling and evaluating counter extremist narratives and no hate speech campaigns.

Note that, this project has been approved for funding and we are only looking for partners from  POLAND, CYPRUS & SLOVENIA (one for each country) that will replace partners from these countries in the original application form.
