The project "Together we expand the professional horizons on the sunny coast of Spain" is closely associated with our “Program of Development Gastronomy School” in Katowiceand it is connected with the needs of the city Katowice, which is cultural center with a steadily increasing hotels- gastronomy infrastructure, developing airport and a large number of business travelers in Upper-Silesia.The participants of the project will be students which are taught in different occupation: the nutrition and food service, the waiters, the techniques of operation ports and terminals. In the project will be involved also teachers of vocational subjects, foreign languages and information technology. The project is focused on gaining vocational knowledge and practical skills of all participants as well as improving the English language and basic vocabulary in Spanish.We want to send to Valencia Spain 2 groups of 20 students. In each group will be 10 technicians of nutrition and food service, 5 waiters and 5 technicians of operating ports and terminals. The students will attend in vocational training for 26 days. The groups will be supervised by two teachers We also plan to send 15 teachers of vocational training in three groups. In each group will be one of the professional foreign language teacher, one information technology teacher , and three teachers of vocational subjects for 5 days. The planned dates of trainings:First group of students- July 2017, the second group of students- September 2017.First group of teachers- May 2017, second and third group of teachers- June 2017The aims of the projects are:• increase foreign language skills of pupils and teachers of vocational subjects.• increase self-esteem among young people and belief in the possibility of success in life,• increasing competitiveness in the labor market through the acquisition of European students work experience,• develop teachers’ professional skills The expected results of the project will be:• the increasing skills in professional English language of students and teachers• a greater chance of getting a job after high school,• improving the success in professional examinations,• increase the prestige of the school environment.The project will improve the further careers of all participants. The students will gain new professional skills and develop foreign language skills. Thanks to the work under the real conditions students will gain the professional experience and they will get the certificates confirming their skills. The students in the catering professions will pass the practical exam better. The Students of techniques exploitation ports and terminals will gain the confidence in serving the customers in English. During the practicing, all students will use the information technology, operate specialized programs in foreign languages, draw up lists and statements concerning the performance of their professional tasks and communicate by new information technology. They will also perform the calculations and analyzes concerning the planning and organization of production in their establishment practices which will increase their ability to use mathematics in everyday life. All students will become open-minded and mobile which will allow them to find an attractive job in UE. The students will work in small groups, they will cooperate with foreign workers they will be responsible for their decisions at work, they will have to cope with difficult situations.The teachers will have the motivation to continue the work and eradicating the syndrome of burnout and improve mutual cooperation. They will use their practical skills during lessons. Teachers will share the knowledge and skills to the other school staff. The program will significantly raise their self-esteem and encourage them to continuously improve and increase their knowledge of foreign language and vocational skills. A special team consists of school management will be set up to conduct the program properly. All participants will receive support through additional preparation in English lesson and Spanish lesson. The students will participate in the meetings with the school counselor to prepare themselves to new work environment and to work under time pressure. We will sign the partnership agreements with the host organizations. We attach to the agreement the program of activities (for students) and the training program (for teachers). We will buy the plane tickets and tickets for the shuttle from the airport to your accommodation center The entire project (all groups) will be supervised by the host organizations, headmistress and teachers. The evaluation will be made after finishing the program, it will provide an information about the project objectives and will become a kind of guide for further work andfuture projects.
