Savanoriø akademija
Start date: Jul 1, 2010,

Project "Savanoriø akademija" ("Volunteers' Academy") seeks to encourage young people to enter volunteer activities. We aim to involve youth in active public work, to show that their ideas are very appreciable and their impact on social well-being is very important. This project consists of 3 parts: "Volunteers' Academy", "Daily Camps", "Future Initiatives". It is like a school for volunteers which invites 15 young people willing to take part in volunteer services. First, the participants will learn working together, try to answer the questions "What is volunteering and why is it important for us?" "Daily Camps" will be a practise of youth work. Volunteers will organize daily events for young people in different parts of Lithuania, who have less opportunities to do something interesting during summer holidays. Volunteers will practically apply their skills and knowledge and those, who join the camp, will meaningfully spend their time. "Future initiatives" is the final work before getting the academy's certificates. During this part of the project, the participants will solve youth problems applying their knowledge and experience gained during project. They will work out new initiatives and projects that will promote social inclusion of young people. We wish that at least one new project will be implemented in the future.
