Start date: Jun 1, 2015,
End date: May 31, 2017
Our project "Professional development of teachers of the foreign languages" aims to build on European projects our school took part in the past. We want to support the teachers of foreign languages who are interested in their further professional development to get an opportunity to innovate their teaching methods, improve their command of temporary spoken and written foreign language and increase their creativity. The aim is to improve quality and efficiency of education of foreign languages as multilingualism is one of the cornerstones of the European projects. The lack of language competences is one of the barries to participation in European education and joining youth programmes. Knowledge of foreign languages is important among the skills helping people, especially the young ones, to find better job at the labour market. Through improving the quality of teaching foreign languages our school wants to motivate students to gain better results in their learning of foreign languages and thus in the future be equipped better for a labour market.
Participation of school staff at language-methodological courses abroad enables our school to network with colleagues in other parts of Europe, develope awareness of mutual understanding and tolerance.
As it is said in the name of our project (Professional development of teachers of the foreign languages), it is fosused on courses in teaching foreign languages and methodology.
Four teachers of foreign languages (English and German) will be involved in the project. They are experienced teachers, willing to be educated and improve the process of teaching foreign languages. They want to enhance their command of foreign language, improve quality of teaching foreign languages, make a contribution to intercultural awareness of their students and their colleagues, disseminate activities and outcomes of the project throughout our school and outside it, as well as to raise the prestige of our institution.
As it was mentioned above, as a result we expect enhancing language competences of our school staff, their creativity, improving of teaching methods, thus improving teaching of foreign languages. We want to motivate our students to get better results in learning foreign languages which can open them possibilities of studying abroad and get a better place at labour market in the future.
Very helping is a possibility to develop a network of international contacts for our participation in international projects in the future.
