Mud & Moa chose to tackle an issue which does not respect modern state boundaries: our environment (and its pollution). Climate change influences everybody's lives and can only be changed if we all work together. In different regions of the world exist different ideas to deal with this problem and it is important to connect these ideas. In our project we focussed on natural building as one example to be respectful with nature. We wanted to connect people with a common interest in this area, giving them the possibility to learn from each other, to emphasise commonalities and not differences - neither between nationalities nor between genders. Facing the same problem and acting together has been a powerful community-building process which encouraged the participants to become actors in shaping their society and environment.
The objectives of our youth exchange were linked to Erasmus+ especially in the following points:
1. It gave the possibility to 35 young people from 5 countries to develop new competences and skills in the field of natural building and community living in an intercultural context
2. It supported and recognised the learning process of the participants through reflection and a skill- collecta
3. It tackled a socially and worldwide relevant topic (climate change, sustainability)
4. It emphasised learning from each other (peer-learning), openness and equality
