"Moj vrt"
Start date: May 4, 2009,

The main idea is strengthening the inter-generational links between youngsters, elders and children while working in the intergenerational pairs. This method of designing the adjoining gardens aspires to stimulate youth's creativity, a sense of entrepreneurship and initiative through non-formal learning experiences. Working in pairs fosters social cohesion, promotes solidarity and mutual understanding between generations regardless of their age, educational and social background. The participants are going to learn about the environment protection and the importance of outdoor sport and leisure activities. In that respect the excursions in the rural areas of Ljubljana will be organised, where the material for the gardens will be collected. The project will take place from May till September 2009 in two suburbs of Ljubljana (Nove Poljane and Fužine). The outcome will be the miniature gardens which are going to be exhibited at the closing ceremony and will be on sail to the public. Whole project will be excibited with photo and video documentation. These gardens will be promoted as a good practice for inter-generational dialogue to other youth who might further develop the idea and continue to look after the gardens with their co-participants.
