Kreatywne nauczanie języka angielskiego oparte na technologiach informacyjno-komunikacyjnych
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was aimed at teachers who wanted to explore different ways of using ICT to enhance teaching and learning. Teaching supported by technological tools contributes to faster acquisition of knowledge, skills and ensures excellent conditions for the increase of creativity and sense of initiative. Unfortunately, our teachers felt overwhelmed by technology and did not know how to use it. Taking into account the educational needs of our students and the necessity of improving their employability we wanted to enable our teachers to improve their ICT competences so that they could successfully use it while teaching. The above-mentioned need has been fulfilled by means of the project being discussed “Creative English language teaching based on Information and Communication Technology”. During the implementation of the project activities we also intended to achieve the following aims: reinforcement of English language competences, greater intercultural awareness, more active participation and team work, building up sense of entrepreneurship and self-esteem. One of the most significant aims of this venture was enhancing European dimension of education. The participants of our project were two English language teachers who were strongly involved in their work. One of the activities included in this project was participating in a course TEL-Technology Enhanced Learning in Malta. The objectives of the course included: To enhance skills in technology and ICT; To introduce an awareness of ways integrating ICT with teaching methodology, using experiential methods; To help teachers reflect on their own teaching methods; To further develop participants’ own language skills and to experience the culture of Malta. The course was taught interactively, with collaborative and group project work. Sessions helped participants set up tools such as Blogs, Wikis and apply them in a teaching environment. Participants were asked to reflect on the tools and activities, inviting discussion with regard to their own knowledge, skills, their approach to teaching students and on adaptation of the use of the tools to their teaching. Participants’ own language skills were developed. Participation of teachers in a project encouraged other teachers to make use of similar opportunities. Our students took part in an e-Twinning project. To ensure and maximize the impact of these activities on the professional development of all staff the school made sure that after the mobility, the competences acquired by the staff were disseminated across and outside the school.
