Közösen Pozsony mellett / Spoločne pri Bratislave
Start date: Sep 10, 2009, End date: Sep 9, 2010 PROJECT  FINISHED

The two twinning towns - Samorin and Mosonmagyaróvár - are centres of the Danube regions situated below Bratislava and since years support local tourism development. Bratislava, its inhabitants and the tourists coming there mean big possibilities for this region. Regarding cultural tourism, monuments in the two towns as well as landmarks from middle ages in the region are important. As for active tourism, marketing of the existing capacities should be supported; taking into account also the fact that in the framework of INTERREG program similar nonprofit institutions have been supported. The next development level could be cooperation of service providers of the two towns. Town Samorin plans a similar cooperation with Hainburg in Austria. Achievements: Šamorín and Mosonmagyaróvár are twin towns and both are centres of the Danube regions situated below Bratislava. The inhabitants of Bratislava mean important opportunities for tourism for this region. The main objective of the project was the marketing of existing capacities of Šamorín and Mosonmagyaróvár, the promotion of their cultural heritage, monuments, as well as landmarks from the Middle Ages in the region. As a result, Šamorín and Mosonmagyaróvár can be commonly presented to tourists in a 2 day long journey. Joint tourist products were also prepared for students.
