Interaktive media for "interaktive" teaching and learning
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

In 2013, Gymnasium Trudering welcomed its first 540 students from Year 5 through Year 8. Its new building is situated in a residential area in the Eastern outskirts of Munich. Gymnasium Trudering’s architectural concept mirrors a very modern approach to teaching and learning: on the second floor the four classes of each Year study in an open learning environment connecting four classrooms, a staff room and a central learning space. In all of these spaces several laptops are available for the use of the students.Currently, Gymnasium Trudering houses 740 students from Year 5 to Year 10. Year 12 will sit their A-level exams in 2018. The school community at Gymnasium Trudering finds itself enriched by the fact that many of its students come from a variety of different European and international backgrounds. Its current staff comprises 70 teachers. One of the school’s main concepts that this teaching staff are constantly processing is the one of the student as an independent learner. Due to this more and more teaching material needs to be differentiated and adaptable to the individual learner. Interactive media can help to provide, produce and share adequate material. Learning about the creation of media supported teaching units, tools and techniques in the Erasmus+ course on interactive teaching and learning would support this process towards more autonomous, project-orientated learning. We wish for all students to become highly competent in media and social skills. The productive use of today’s media and channels of communication can foster their communicative skills and their social awareness.Interactive cooperation on engaging teacher or student led projects with Erasmus+ partner classes and schools in other European countries would certainly enrich the individual students’ (and us teachers’) learning process on multiple levels by real communication and live encounters. We are looking forward to welcoming exchange partners in Munich and to contributing to a strong European network of schools.
