The proposed project deals with the development of the potential of the labor market within the field of transport and logistics (further in the text T&L) in the bordering areas of Russia and Latvia. Due to the common history project areas face similar problems, such as an increasing tendency of young people leaving the region, especially its rural areas. Currently there are no higher vocational education programmes which would offer the qualifications suitable to meet the requirements of the servicing and maintenance of modern commercial freight vehicles available in the project territory. Accordingly, there is a shortage of appropriately trained T&L workforce. Achievements: 1. Development of cooperation to outline of the most urgent problems in T&L sphere and ideas for the improvement developed a result of all the events ( 2 round table discussions, 1 conference,2 informal networking events) 2. Capacity of project partner organisations and their teachers increased through improvement of training programmes, and their updated knowledge about T&L 3. Improved international vocational education programme, which complies with the needs and trends of the T&L industry, available to the project partners and current/potential students in three languages 4. Upgraded technical grounds of the partners of the project organized for running the vocational training; 5. Necessary central and peripheral equipment for storage and management of distance learning facilities 6. Distance learning tool for the vocational study programme
