Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In the academic year 2014-2015, SNSPA has continued the development of the Erasmus mobility program, both for our students and also for teachers and administrative staff employed in SNSPA. Erasmus is about compatibility and harmonization of curricula of the universities participating in this program, exchange of teaching and learning, exchanging experiences and best practices, changing mentalities. Given that one of the objectives of the European Commission is to enhance the performance and international attractiveness of higher education institutions in Europe, and increase the overall quality of education and training in the EU, combining both excellence and equity, by promoting mobility students, we believe that Erasmus plays and will play an important role in the integration and consolidation of EU mobility programs and linking them with national programs. The main objectives of SNSPA on the development of student mobility and professors and non-teaching staff in the academic year 2014-2015, were: increasing the mobilities of study and student placement, increasing the mobilities of teaching / training for teachers and administrative staff at eligible partner institutions with which inter-institutional agreements are concluded; creating good working relationships, cooperation and exchange with universities and partner institutions; full academic recognition for all students participating in the Erasmus mobility program; promoting access to students, teachers and administrative staff in ensuring selections all candidates equal opportunities, irrespective of race, color, sex, country of destination, country of study, socio-economic conditions, given the special needs and other outstanding issues; ensuring transparency and fairness of the selection process. The selections of students and teachers take place in each faculty and the selection period is agreed, during March-April for the next academic year. Selections are preceded by Erasmus informative seminars that have as main objectives: attracting students to Erasmus, presentations of the bilateral agreements, the presentation of the Erasmus experience, the presentation of the selection criteria. After the final results are announced the next step is preparing students for mobility. We held meetings, discussions with former Erasmus students to resolve all issues, uncertainties related to transportation, accommodation, in order to exchange useful experience before leaving for mobility. During this period, we conclude the study agreement (Learning Agreement) and the financial contracts. The promotion/ information strategy was based on the following activities: organizing different seminars, using the erasmus.snspa.ro website, ads on Yahoo groups, bulletin boards, web pages of the faculties, Facebook pages which addressed the program. The alignment to Bologna system had a positive effect by increasing the compatibility of study programs in Romanian and European universities. In general, changes in legislation and public policies in education, support mobility Erasmus, mobility inclusion criterion on participation in international assessments of ARACIS or CNCSIS could trigger a higher interest for teachers in view of participating in this program. In what concerns the legislative landmarks, the provisions of Order 3223 on February 8, 2012 approving the methodology for recognition of study periods abroad had a direct impact in terms of implementation of the Erasmus mobility in our university through amendment of the internal documents concerning the recognition of the Erasmus study periods. Clearly, after Erasmus mobility, they were highlighted positive aspects such as: personal development of students, increasing the employability of students on completion of undergraduate or postgraduate studies, developing social and intercultural skills, and increase the quality of the educational process and research as a whole.
