Up till now cooperation between the Panevezys and Daugavpils football schools has only happened at the school management level. The time to change this is now here, and is being achieved by developing closer links between coaches and young footballers, strengthening the friendship between both cities in this way. The project has provided the opportunity for more than 450 young people to train together, learn from their peers, and to find out about the other nations culture and traditions. For coaches and specialists, who work with youth, it was an opportunity to gain new experience and to learn new informal methods of education. A long-term benefit is sporting equipment, but the special sportswear with the programme logo will remind project participants of the time spent together for a long time.
