Aviation is a typical industry with global character. There are two world leaders in the civil aviation - US and EU represented by state regulatories US - FAA and EU- EASA. Whereas technical and technological aspects of civil aviation are highly regulated and coordinated the field of education and training was not explored indepth yet. Aviation is the most safe transport mode but more than 90 % of accidents are associated with human factors. This requires adopting new effectivemeasures in the field of training and education. The AV EDEN project will compare training standards and practices on both sides of Atlantic, benchmark them andwill result in series of recommendations and best practlcies both for the regulatory bodies and the industry. Results will be available also to all training andeducationai institutions to improve quality of education and educational structures and programs.
