We work in a primary school as teachers. We are both teaching children and adults who are newly promoted. We are involved in an innovative learning project in foreign languages for very young children. We are working in a nursery school with melting pupils from 3 to 6 in each class. Therefore, we are building all together learning projects, mainly in English. Five teachers are involved in the project as well as a teacher trainer in foreign languages. Three teachers from the team have already taken advantage of the Comenius motilities two years ago. Our project is divided into two parts. On the one hand, we wish our pupils to meet with different European cultures using families partnership through the readings of Youth Literature albums where young heroes live in a foreign country, mainly European. On the other hand, we want to upgrade the early teaching of a foreign European language. This is in harmony with young children as it is organized through recreational games using Total Physical Response techniques. The aim is to give the pupils new skills described in The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages which is linked to our primary-elementary course project. We also teach newly promoted primary school teachers and our mission will be the wide diffusion of our experience in order to promote the teaching of oral skills before the age of six.
