Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The National Coordination Point (NCP) is the central contact point for all issues concerning the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the concept of learning outcomes in Austria. The NCP is located in the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD-GmbH). The OeAD-GmbH has been commissioned by the national authority with the administration of the Erasmus+ programme. In addition, the national centres for Euroguidance, Europass, ECVET as well as the Bologna Service Point are situated within that OeAD-GmbH.A central task of the NCP is the support of the two responsible ministries, the Federal Ministry for Education and Women's Affairs (BMBF) and the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economics (BMWFW), in the development and implementation of the NQF in Austria. The NCP will provide a holistic document management system (Qualification Register) and organize and coordinate various steering committee meetings. The NQF-law to come into force in 2016, will regulate the classification process. The NCP will play important role in the mapping process of the qualifications, with the help of external experts, an NQF advisory board and a steering committee. The NKS is also strongly involved in the Austrian strategy for lifelong learning in Austria (LLL: 2020) developing and implementing the validation strategy of non-formal and informal learning and the preparation for the assignment of non-formal qualifications in Austria.
