Then PENTA is for you!
The purpose of PENTA is to catalyse research, development and innovation in areas of micro and nanoelectronics enabled systems and applications, where there is shared national and industrial interest. Micro and nanoelectronics has been identified as a Key Enabling Technology for Europe and a cornerstone of key economic and societal developments.
The current focus areas for projects will be on applications in the transport and mobility, health & wellbeing and digital production sectors. Nevertheless, other areas will also be considered, if pre-approved by the relevant Public Authorities that will be supporting the project. The roadmap for the PENTA programme is defined by the Electronic Components & Systems Strategic Agenda, which will be discussed at the EFECS conference in December, at the same time as PENTA Call 3 is launched.

PENTA supports projects that can be set up quickly and implemented in a manner that matches the specific needs of the project objectives and the participants. The main criteria in submitting a project are:
Submission and application details
PENTA organizes a Call for projects once a year and accepts unsolicited project proposals throughout the year in order to adapt in a timely manner to new market needs and demands. Call 3 will be launched on December 5th 2017.
Create an account in the PENTA project zone and you are immediately able to initiate a project. You can also access the ECS Collaboration Tool to find partners and create consortia or to search for expertise or ideas.
Consortium Building
An opportunity to meet potential partners and build consortia is provided at the EFECSevent, to be held in Brussels between the 5th and 7th of December. As well as the chance to discuss in detail the contents of the new Electronic Components & Systems (ECS) Strategic Agenda, pitch slots are available and pitch posters can be presented in the exhibition area.
Funding details
PENTA financial support will be provided according to national funding procedures.
In order to prepare a successful proposal, project participants need to be aware that there may be significant differences in funding procedures depending on national rules. Therefore, it is important to make sure that a project proposal fits within national public authorities' priorities and funding rules before submitting it to PENTA.
